Multi-Timer: Several Named Timers at Once

Add a label and a time, then run as many countdowns side by side as you need. Each one rings on its own when it reaches zero.

How to use the multi-timer

  1. Type a Label if you want one, such as Pasta or Laundry (up to 40 characters). A blank label becomes Timer 1, Timer 2 and so on.
  2. Enter Hours, Minutes and Seconds as whole numbers (up to 99:59:59), or tap a quick time: 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 min, or 1 hour.
  3. Press Add timer. Repeat for every countdown you need, up to 30.
  4. Press Start on a card. The button turns into Pause and then Resume. Reset restores the original length, +1 min adds a minute, and the cross removes the card.
  5. When a timer reaches zero its card turns green and rings three beeps, repeating every 8 seconds up to six times. Press Silence to stop it sooner.

For one kitchen countdown with presets, the cooking timer is simpler. For a single custom countdown or boiled eggs, try the countdown timer or the egg timer.

How it keeps time

A running timer stores the clock time at which it will finish, and every quarter second the page shows the whole seconds left until then. That is more accurate than subtracting one second per tick, because a busy or throttled tab cannot make a timer run slow. Pausing stores what is left; resuming sets a new finish time. Your timers are saved in this browser, so after a reload the running ones carry on. A timer that finished while the page was closed shows "Finished while you were away" and does not ring.

Worked example with the example timers

On a first visit the page loads two timers: Pasta at 10:00 and Laundry at 40:00, with the message "Two example timers are ready." Press Start on both. After 10 minutes Pasta turns green, reads "Time is up", rings, and the message reads "Pasta: time is up. 2 timers: 1 running, 1 finished." Laundry shows 30:00 and keeps running. Press Silence, then add a Tea timer with the 5 min quick time while Laundry carries on.

Multi-timer FAQ

Can I run more than one timer at the same time?

Yes. Add up to 30 timers and start any of them. Each has its own Start, Pause, Reset and alarm, and they do not affect one another.

What happens if I close the tab or reload the page?

Your timers and their labels are kept in this browser. Running timers pick up from the clock when you return, but nothing rings while the page is closed, so a timer that ended in the meantime is marked as finished while you were away.

Will the alarm sound if I switch to another tab?

Usually, yes. The page keeps counting in the background and rings when a timer ends. Some phone browsers freeze pages when the screen locks, so keep the tab open and the screen on for important timers.

Can I add time to a timer that is already running?

Press +1 min to push the finish time back by a minute. On a timer that has finished, +1 min works like a one minute snooze.
