How can I merge PDF files without uploading them?

Why did my PDF only get a little smaller?
The PDF compressor rebuilds the file's internal structure, removes metadata and can flatten form fields. It does not lower the quality of images, so a PDF that is large because of scanned pages or photos will shrink only a little. Files that have been edited many times or contain form fields usually shrink the most.
Can I remove a password from a PDF if I forgot it?
No. The PDF password remover needs the correct password and does not crack or bypass encryption. It is for files you can already open: enter the password once and save an unlocked copy so you do not have to type it every time. The unlocked copy saves each page as an image, so text in it cannot be selected or searched.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word or text?
Only if the PDF has a text layer. PDF to Word and PDF to Text read the text stored in the file, and a scanned page is usually just a picture of text, so it needs OCR (optical character recognition) first. You can still turn scanned pages into images with PDF to JPG.
