Online Text Tools
Paste text in and get counted, converted or cleaned text back. These tools handle the everyday jobs: counting words and characters for an essay or a post, checking a caption against the limits on X, Instagram and LinkedIn, changing text to Title Case or snake_case, and turning a headline into a URL slug.
For lists and messy data you can remove duplicate lines, sort lines alphabetically or by number, collapse extra spaces and blank lines, strip emoji or accents, and run bulk find and replace with optional regex. There is also a Morse code translator that plays the code as audio, Caesar and ROT13 ciphers, and a Lorem Ipsum generator for mockups.
Everything you paste is processed in your browser and is not uploaded, which matters when the text is a contract draft, a customer list or writing you have not published yet.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to read or say 1,000 words?
At an average silent reading speed of 238 words per minute, 1,000 words takes about 4 minutes 12 seconds to read. Read aloud at a comfortable 150 words per minute, it takes about 6 minutes 40 seconds. The word counter shows both times as you type.
What are the character limits on X, Instagram and LinkedIn?
A standard X post allows 280 characters (paid accounts can post longer), an Instagram caption allows 2,200, a LinkedIn post allows 3,000 and a Threads post allows 500. The social media character counter checks your text against all of these and more at the same time.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each word, the way many headlines are written: Easy Weeknight Dinner Ideas. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns: Easy weeknight dinner ideas. The text case converter switches between them and also produces camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case for code.
How do I remove duplicate lines from a list?
Paste the list into the duplicate line remover. It keeps the first copy of each line in its original position, and you can choose whether Apple and apple count as the same line and whether to ignore spaces at the ends. To put the result in order, the line sorter can sort and remove duplicates in one pass.
